Lana Del Rey: The Paradise Tour, Glasgow SECC

Last Thursday, the 16th of May, I went and saw the beautiful, enigmatic Lana Del Rey who I love and adore. The tickets sold out really quickly, but thanks to my friend Heather who was on the ball and bid for tickets online, we managed to get two tickets for each of us! Wooo!

So the weeks building up to the concert basically consisted of constant excitement and deliberating over what to wear and how to style myself in homage to Lana. After trawling through images and videos based upon inspiration of the singer/songwriter I noticed key features of her styling, that despite being somewhat of a style chameleon she always has her signature stiletto nails and chunky golden jewellry which I thought would be fun to incorporate into my outfit that day.

gold chain - H&M / dollar ring - Primark / nails - Ebay

jacket - Urban Outfitters / black men's tee - New Look Men's

brown satchel - Urban Outfitters / shoes - Urban Outfitters

Onto the concert. Lana's support act, Kassidy, were freaking amazing! I guess the genre of their music would be rock/folk. So aside from the knowledge that one of the bandmember's is Lana's boyfriend I didn't really know anything about the band or their style of music.. but literally within moments of taking the stage everyone was immediately taken with their vibrant and energetic stage presence. Each and every one of the four band members were incredibly talented each playing an instrument of three guitars and a keyboard, and all had great voices. Cheeky, charming and involved with the crowd, I was an instant fan.

Well Lana was fucking incredible. Poised, endearing and completely beautiful, Lana was stunning to watch. I was really lucky, my friend Heather and I were stood really near the front of the crowd metres away from the stage so the view was amazing seeing her so close up. The stage set was classic Lana, a tiger statue on each side of the stage, and candles and chandeliers for lighting. After multiple perfomances in which Lana has been scrutinised, I have to say she sang perfectly! I could not fault her, her voice is special, and so emotive that I found myself a bit choked up when she was singing 'Ride' - I couldn't help myself! She sang most classics including Born To Die, Summertime Sadness and Video Games which were great but I particularly enjoyed her singing Young and Beautiful which is just generally a brilliant song. Aswell as Burning Desire and American which are also amazing.

So, I think that's just about enough of my fan girling! Have any of you seen Lana Del Rey on her Paradise Tour, and if so, what did you think?! Lots of love,

Home Made Sugar Scrub in Five Minutes

Good afternoon beauties. This is my first post in ages! I hope you enjoy. Today's post is slightly different to any of my previous posts.. and is actually beauty related, which I'm excited about - it should be fun! In the past I've generally focused on doing fashion related posts, but today I'm mixing it up and doing a beauty post. *does Barney Stinson style self five*

So today we are making a DIY body scrub that works wonders, it's cheap, easy to make and makes your skin feel amazing and hydrated. Personally my skin gets pretty dry and keeping it moisturized really does take quite alot of upkeep which can be time consuming and tedious. As I've got older my skincare routine has been a somewhat trial and error experience. You name it, I've probably tried it, we're talking exfoliating scrubs, exfoliator gloves, body brushing, body butters, moisturizers, creams etc.

Well I've always been a fan of body scrubs and find them to be really effective!.. But I find that all the luxurious sounding ingredients and lovely packaging often ends up being pretty expensive. And when, like myself, your skin is high maintenance hell we don't have the money to be buying these scrubs two or three times in a month..Well, when I was in Spain my Dad's girlfriend whipped me up an awesome home-made sugar scrub and inspired me to make it myself back home. And now I've come across the most basic, and cheap, body scrub that you can make at home in under ten minutes which will smell great, and leave your skin feeling as soft as... a porcupines back. Haha just kidding, I'm such an idiot, but seriously it will make your skin feel as soft as a baby's! Let's get started.

A bag of white or brown granulated sugar
Olive oil
Vanilla essence/extract
A plastic tub or glass jar

1.Fill a mixing bowl with 2/3 white or brown granulated sugar
2. Add 1/3 of olive oil (a light oil is probably best!)
3. Mix it up, make sure all the sugar is mixed thoroughly with the oil
4. Add your vanilla essence (I use a full bottle) this is purely to make it smell great!
5. Pour mixture into your containers of choice. I washed used Soap and Glory tubs.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and please let me know how you got on with it! I rave about it to all my friends I'm such a dork.. I just think it's great that I'm saving money and absoloutely love the result on my skin. *Another little money saving tip, grab a cheap family size hair conditioner and use instead of shaving foam. It works the same way as a can of shaving foam but will last alot longer, feels really light on your skin and shouldn't cost more than a fiver.* Until next time. Love.
